Men of all ages attend the protest; however, no women are allowed.
Hasidics in the ultra-orthodox neighborhood of Mea She'arim of Jerusalem organized a gathering during Passover to protest the sale of hametz or leavened bread while observing the holiday. The air was tense with busloads of border patrol guards waiting just blocks away for any activity. During a time when many countries are protesting a shortage of bread, this group was protesting because there was too much. |
