I've been doing US Open coverage for The Wall Street Journal all week. It's a whole other world inside the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. I've enjoyed shooting whatever I find interesting, both on and off the courts. Photos have been appearing online and in the Greater New York section of WSJ's print edition.

The Brooklyn Bridge will be undergoing construction for the next four years. I photographed the beginning of the project on Monday night. Wall Street Journal put up a slideshow.

I braved one of my most dangerous assignments this week. It wasn't an embed in Afghanistan or reportage in Juarez. It was photographing a bedbug-infested apartment in the Bronx for The Wall Street Journal. The story is about people that have figured out ways to make financial gain from this creepy epidemic. Shooting a cleaning crew in the Bronx apartment steaming and vacuuming in hazmat suits reminded me of a scene from ET. Fortunately, I made it out bug-free.

I got off the plane from California on Monday morning to start shooting Dharmangi Bhatia, a former hedge fund manager that left her job to raise her daughter Sway, for The National in Abu Dhabi. The relationship between Dharmangi and Sway was truly heartwarming. And working with The National is always a pleasure, especially with the terrific play they give photos in the print edition.

One of the edgier assignments I've had for The Wall Street Journal ran today about an uptown burlesque show. The dancers were wonderful and it was a blast to shoot. View the slideshow.

Last month I did a shoot for Palladium Boots. One of the photos appears as an ad in the August 2008 issue of Nylon. We had a blast on the shoot and there should be plenty more to come.

I worked on a story for Wall Street Journal's Made in New York column about Bowery Lane Bicycles, which are handmade in Queens. The factory was incredible. The story appears in the Greater New York section of today's WSJ.

Last weekend I trolled Sixth Avenue in Manhattan shooting street fairs for an article in today's Wall Street Journal. The online article is available only to subscribers, but it's featured in the Greater New York section of the print edition. Although the fairs are generally one block repeated ten times, I took it all in and got a number of photos.

Back in April, The Wall Street Journal launched its Greater New York Section that prints 16 full-color pages six days a week. They use a lot of great photography by some of my favorite NYC based photographers. Ever since the launch, I've been working for them more often than not. It's been a wonderful opportunity to explore the city like I never have before. Here's a sampling of some of my favorite assignments from the past couple months.

I photographed jewelry designer Maripol for the Issue 68 of The FADER. In the '80s, Maripol styled Madonna and Debbie Harry and documented the likes of Basquiat and Keith Haring with her Polaroid. She gave me a nice sense of what New York City used to be.
