Someone from IMG told me that New York Fashion Week was the second biggest media event in America behind the Super Bowl. I was surprised to hear that but it certainly is a media zoo. This season I had the opportunity to cover it for the New York Times’ T Magazine. I really appreciate their approach to Fashion Week and how it allowed me to photograph it with a different and distinct vision.
During the week, I shot backstage at Richard Chai Love, Prabal Gurung, Derek Lam, Moncler Grenoble, and J. Crew. I also did Dress Code features with Jason Wu, Creatures of the Wind, and Reed Krakoff. I put together a compilation of my favorite pictures from the week on Lovebryan.

Last month, I received an assignment out of left field to shoot dogs in questionable situations for Vice Magazine. What came of it was a fashion editorial that made the cover of the current issue. While most of the pups were understandably a bit rowdy, Finn, the Italian greyhound coverboy, was a superstar. Now our image will grace the cover of over a dozen different editions of the magazine all over the world. I also did an interview about the cover for Vice’s website.

I photographed Nicholas Gazin and Mickey Duzyj for a G-Shock print ad. It’s an ongoing campaign that G-Shock has pairing creatives across all different fields.

I’ve been working for Wall Street Journal all week. My assignments are such a mixed bag. It keeps things interesting. For today’s paper, I photographed Tony Award-winning lighting designer Kevin Adams and how he lights his own apartment. I also shoot sportscaster Mary Carillo who will be announcing the Westminster Dog Show next month.

Happy New Year! I just put together my annual year in pictures slideshow on Lovebryan. It was an incredible year. Looking back only makes me excited what’s to come this year.

I shot the guys behind electronic music labels Software and Future Times for an article called Four on the Floor in the current issue of The FADER. With the current state of the record industry, you’ve just gotta admire these guys’ dedication to the music.

I was featured on Verve Photo today. The majority of my favorite upcoming documentary photographers have been featured on the site. I’m honored to be among them.

My old rule of thumb was that if I was too busy working to update my portfolio site, then it wasn’t necessary. But at some point it just becomes necessary.
New site coming soon…

Back in June, I spent a week in Austin, TX photographing a group of folks that make up the bands Pure X, Sleep ∞ Over, and Silent Diane. Sam Hockley-Smith wrote the article called Austin, Texas: The City That Always Sleeps in The FADER. Immersing myself in their scene made it one of the most enjoyable assignments all year.

A campaign I shot for Adidas’s Fall 2011 Denim collection has launched. We shot the Crystal Cave in Pennsylvania back in the summer. Having the cave to ourselves after hours was quite an experience.
